Daughters of Oman

Director/ Producer (2008, 20 min.)

It was a delight to discover a small land filled with stories and amazing kind people. Most have heard and been to Dubai but not to a place that is near and quite unique in every way. Making a film for the Ministry of Tourism I was lucky to travel throughout the country, to places most would not go and dine with different tribes. The film became a discovery of stories and people so close to Iran and yet so different. A connection between India and Africa.

In a small fishing town, a woman in the market told me: “Hear my song, hold the shellfish to your ear to know my love story”

That became my goal for the film. To portray the history, unknown stories and love songs through different tribes of Oman.
